Marc Marquez backed up his superb performance in Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix by going fastest for Repsol Honda in the Monday test at Jerez.
The reigning World Champion lauded a productive day of work for himself and team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who finished the day 4th on the timesheets behind Movistar Yamaha duo Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.
“We didn’t really have anything important to test out, but there were some things that you don’t have time to look at over during a Grand Prix weekend.” said Marquez to the MotoGP website.
“Things like the electronics, the start strategy or some different setups.”
Britain’s Bradley Smith was 9th, 1.1 seconds off the pace of Marquez and less than 0.1 off Tech 3 team-mate Pol Espargaro, with the Spaniard’s older brother and NGM Forward rider Aleix separating the two.
Scott Redding set 12th fastest time for Go&Fun Honda Gresini, 1.5 off the fastest, with Michael Laverty 16th for PBM.
