Marc Marquez has expressed his belief that a broken leg sustained in training will not affect his preparation for the 2014 MotoGP season.
The Spaniard, who is the reigning MotoGP World Champion, was riding a dirt bike in Lleida in Spain on Wednesday when he crashed and fractured his right fibula. Doctors have reported that there is no ligament damage and that Marquez is expected to be fit and ready for the start of the 2014 season in Qatar on 23rd March.
“It was a really unfortunate accident that could happen to anyone at any time.” said Marquez.
“I was rushed to hospital and Dr. Mir treated me, thankfully there was no ligament damage and it seems like a clean break.”
Marquez was fastest in the first pre-season test in Malaysia at the start of February.
