McLaren have appointed former Lotus Team Principal Eric Boullier ‘Racing Director’, announced in a communique circulated on the internet this morning.
Boullier, who played an instrumental part in returning Kimi Raikkonen to Formula One in 2012, will report directly to supremo Ron Dennis via a yet-to-be-appointed CEO, an all-new position for 2014.
“I regard this appointment as an honour, a privilege and a wonderful opportunity.” penned the Frenchman in the statement.
“I’m both eager and determined to play an active part, working alongside McLaren Racing’s other senior managers and directors to bring about the changes that will deliver success.”
Boullier will take up his duties from the 3rd February.
