Mercedes MGPW05 and Red Bull RB10 launches kick off Jerez testing

Formula One swings back into action today after the winter break at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain, and 2013 frontrunners Mercedes and Red Bull got the action underway with the long awaited launches of the MGPW05 and RB10 cars that they will use to compete in the 2014 championship.

Adrian Newey’s creation features the familiar ‘anteater’ arrangement as we have already seen on so many other launches thus far, while the rear of the car is a worthy successor to the tightly-packaged Red Bull machines bred since 2009. Mercedes meanwhile have opted to go for a Ferrari-style ‘slide’ nose that dips alarmingly forward of the front suspension mountings.

Meanwhile Force India released detailed pictures of the VJM06, which was launched online last week.
