Mark Webber topped the final free practice session for Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix ahead of the Lotus duo of Romain Grosjean and Heikki Kovalainen, after setting fastest time in another rain-affected session.
There was little on-track activity for the first forty minutes, with only Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez and the two Marussia’s of Max Chilton and Jules Bianchi. However, the rain eased in the final quarter hour to allow most teams and drivers to venture out onto the circuit, with Lewis Hamilton the most prominent frontrunner as he bid to understood the foibles of his F1W04 in wet conditions.
Both Ferrari’s, Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button all failed to set times.
There is speculation that qualifying could dry up as the session progresses, with a break in the rain forecast.
