Lotus has become the first of the teams to launch their 2013 challenger.
The event was watched by more than 14,500 people live on the Lotus website with many more witnessing it on Sky Sports News and via other online online streams.
Both Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean appeared resplendent in Alpinestars racesuits, the result of a new contract signed over the winter in place of 2012 suppliers OMP.
The team overalls also feature new sponsorship from CNBC US television and Burn Energy Drinks.
Gerard Lopez, Eric Bouillier, James Allison, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean all gave their verdict on the new car, with Allison calling it an ‘evolution’ of the best parts of the E20. The new car keeps a stepped nose because the aerodynamic fairing designed to cover it is apparently ‘difficult to produce’ without adding too much weight to the car.
Mclaren are the next team to launch their car, scheduled for the 31st January.
